And we haven’t got monstrous taxes already?
Back in the early ‘80s we had Foot from the Loony Left talking about Unilateral Nuclear Disarmament now we have the Ridiculous Right telling us that the answer to all of our problems is Unilateral Trade Disarmament where we just open our borders to any crap from anywhere in the world as long as it is dirt cheap - meanwhile every other country keeps our goods out.
Starmer & Co. can’t possibly be any worse than this shower of s**t, can they?

Wouldn’t trust starmer are far as I could throw him.

When he first came on the go I thought here we are, working man done good, obviously intelligent and sharp enough. Watching him in action, he’s none of it, he’s dull as feck, seems t readily hang his hat on the latest “thing”, that taking the knee picture was an embarrassment.

I know it’s how politics seems t be now, but it really gets on my tits when there’s a new incentive announced and he’ll stand up and “too little too late”, “more needs t be done”……empty words, just noise.

We’d be better off with an option on the polling cards for “none of the above, please implement a 12month 40% pay cut across all MPs salaries”. Sharpen the buggers up a bit.

I’m minded to go back pre referendum on TFF, and find a handful of links to endless threads and posts, from farmers on here gleefully expecting a bounty of deregulation, freedom to farm as you wish, drums of glyphosate at the ready, government support, and to top it all off, fudge Paddy’s beef and dairy products off the shelf, to make way for the produce of the newly empowered British farmer.
Did that not happen? Just askin…

I dunno, when labour get in they will nationalise our farms, force us to work 35 hours a week, give us all the benifits going plus a living wage, won`t matter when our crops fail as we will not be held responsible as we will be honourable civil servants so job will be a good un. (y) (y) may not like having the 200 illegal immigrants sequestered into our sheds but hey ho.

The one trick pony shows up again.

I don't think many farmers thought it would be the land of milk and honey after Brexit, although Boris certainly messed up far more than he should have done.
The stripping of our ability to make our own decisions, immigration, being treated as second class citizens despite trousering our money etc were all day to day concerns, farming's fortunes were far more unknown.

But having replied, I've realised that you've dragged a thread off topic yet again.

Only needs to do (not promise, Do.) three things

1. Ensure no food is imported, that is produced at lower standards than home produced

2. Tell the public the truth about UK food production having a lower carbon footprint than things like Almond milk and Asian Avocado.

3. Establish meat and milk boards that control all ex farm sales of finished cattle, sheep and pigs as well as ex farm milk sales.
