Possibly that there was no need for blanket coverage, would have been a lot more than 109k complaints but they took down the site after a few hours. We are not all Royalists and have little interest in such matters.
Suppose you think Blair or Corbyn would be a better alternative, can just imagine people all over the world rushing to see that pair.

I think the Queen mother's funeral was a better send of, all those piper's marching with the coffin, poor Duke picked the wrong time to go, but as l told my 11 year old daughter when the Queen goes you, ll have never seen anything like it. She is a great women probably live another 10 years yet.

I did read somewhere that the Duke wanted a low key event or as low key as it could be so maybe for him he did pass at the right time. I agree the queen is great we have been very lucky to have lives during her rein a very special lady indeed.

I'm not a follower of the royals and yes I have questioned how much they cost but I have just seen a bit of the funeral on the TV. Outstanding, the way in which they conducted themselves re numbers, social distancing, wearing of masks etc was an example to us all, blows the arguments that the non mask wearers and non-conformists have right out of the water. The inclusion of his staff members to walk behind the hearse and the using of the land rover was a very respectful nod to the working class people whom they seem to be proud to represent. The precision of the planning, pall bearers, bands guards of honour etc were exemplary. This was a lesson on how it should be done. Todays events underscored how important a role the royal family has to play. This was indeed a sad day for Britain, but it is also a day that Britain should be immensely proud.

I would think the tragic sight of the Queen being made to sit alone at her husband's funeral ought to be an opportunity to reflect on, and demand the removal of, the callous and inhumane laws that the government have imposed on the population.

Not sure why she had to , my mother didn't sit on her own .
Maybe she wasn't in a bubble ....

I put the subtitles up,

Maybe she wasn't in a bubble ....

She's in a bubble with her household (that's why her Lady in Waiting travelled with her in the car). Were she living alone, she would have been allowed to sit with one other group ~ if I've been told properly.

A wide brimmed hat was a wise choice.

I can't stand the monarchy.

I don't know why I have to keep seeing this.

The institution is fundamentally at odds with the principles of a successful modern state.

Publically celebrating the life of a man who embodied this is abhorrent.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you are letting yourself down writing that on here today.
