The high pressure oil supplied by the heui pump acts on the fuel plunger part of the injector thus injecting the fuel at higher pressure than achieved by a standard cam and plunger type pump. The solenoid on the injector let's the high pressure oil in on top of the fuel plunger the timing and duration ( amount of oil ) is controlled by the ecm. There are two galleries in the head one above the other, oil over fuel. There is a fuel transfer pump mounted on the heui pump and a relief valve at the back of the head to maintain fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is very important to the engine - blocked filters will cause this.
Hope that explains it a bit.

Post a picture of the relevant pages
They will be in the section titled
Wartung
I will translate them for you
I have searched high and low but all my old xerion stuff has been binned
There seems to be a lot of rubbish being posted on here
You don't need fuel additives I ran one for 2 years on Bio diesel never did it any harm
We have talked at length about the C9
Will try and ring you later as I am off to bed now
Just started my night shift week
Dont worry about problems that aren't there

Ok Max, that’s very good of you, thank you very much.

I can’t post anything though because the salesman took the German manual to try and get an English one.

I have been thinking of using fuel additives for a while in everything to be honest. There a lot of talk about fuel quality in recent months in both bulk tank and machinery so thought for the few pounds it costs I use some.

Get to bed!!!!!

What fuel volumes are you talking?

We have about 15,000 l on hand at the yard and generally only treat every third or fourth top-up, it's more as an insurance policy (the risk of having all the fleet parked up isn't worth not treating for fuel bug) and it is hardly noticeable as a cost at that rate.

Just wondering, why fuel doesn’t come with additive in it? Surely the cost to add it at the refinery would be tiny on the price per L and solve a lot of fuel issues, especially with modern common rail, dpf, egr, and scr engines.

I'm not sure, Phil.

I only suppose it is a liability issue if something goes wrong with (for example, a line of cars) and then the manufacturers have a case against the fuel companies?
If you do it yourself, then you can keep it to yourself!!

In saying this, since the new tank was installed and the fuel treated occasionally, we haven't had any downtime with fuel (other than running out ) but the sediment trap on my truck looked like this when I checked it out:

Are you sure that’s not the oil filter :ROFLMAO:. I know what you mean, if they change the blend it leaves them open to a who load of blame for every fuelling issue that comes along:facepalm:

NO..... magazines articles are usually the kiss of death! :stop:
Right. Progress. But not much. Didn’t bother with pics as it’s basically what we did with Xerion A

All rear linkage off, front link extensions off. Keeping the front links on to mount a tool box. Thinking that could be handy. Links down for driving, links up, stand on the tool box for cleaning windscreen.

Had a measure up of the body, should have got a pic here, the Xerion already had four 80mm ball couplings to mount onto so I’m going to get the female bits and use those. Might save some welding and cutting of steel and look smarter.

It also has an 80mm Scharmuller ball drawbar so I’m thinking of getting the cup for my trailer. Might be getting ahead of myself here though.

I obviously have miracle hands. Seat wasn’t working, which I was a bit peaved about, but miraculously it’s all going again. Luxury.

Radio doesn’t work though. Never mind, if that’s the biggest problem I’ll be lucky.

Forgot, it wasn’t the biggest problem.

Took a guard off and found a very worn gearbox mount. Bugger. Double bugger, same on the other side, both rears knackered. Well, half knackered. Took them off, turned them round, fitted back. Better but not perfect. Massive job to completely replace. Order parts sometime, job for winter.

Again, if that’s the biggest problem I’ll be lucky.

Might start getting Mdrive bits off next.
Another expense but I would be tempted to adapt for weigh cells while I was making the cups, even if you just use blanks for the time being.

They (our fuel companies) had massive flak when the newer common-rail pickups arrived in NZ- all manufacturers want to do is pretend the fault isn't with their stuff, but something external, a popular TFF theme (n)
I only know of one fuel company who "adds additive", and that's Caltex Techron.

I'm tempted, but it's all time I don't have.

As long as you make it four point mounting, then I think you could alter it to take cells at a later date if you wanted to. I think they are a great idea, the accuracy gained from actually knowing exactly what’s in the back would be great.
I assume your going to have to make some sort of subframe for the Bredal body.....?
