Project Xerion.

I don’t know about most days but certainly machines get a rinse off here every time they spread fert.

If I’m honest I don’t wash and polish as much as I used to, but I still get comments from customers about how tidy the kit is, which makes it worthwhile.

Good idea about the grease around the connectors. Not sure what we will need yet, hopefully that will be sorted next week.

Do I use the word “hopefully “ just a bit too often?

If your not using the connectors I’d remove them I think, Pete.
And even if you are using some of those lines, it may be best to couple directly and take the quick release out of the equation. Possibly fit a pair of hydraulic spec ball valves (with the handles removed), with a union in between, so that you could disconnect and not loose any oil if you did find yourself taking the body of now n again? I think this would eliminate the swearing when you try to uncouple quick release couplings that heve not been touched in 6 months or so, especially in your environment. And you may get better hydraulic flow too by removing the quick couplers.

Is there not a way of putting a cover over the whole lot with a rubber cap/hole thing for a trailer brake hose?

Good advice @Shovelhands as usual.

Top man.

In fact many of you have given me a hell of a lot of great advice since this whole process started over four years ago, so thank you all very much.

I’m not going to mention names because I don’t want to miss anybody out, but seriously, loads of you have messaged, emailed, called and even stopped me at Cereals and LAMMA for a chat about it all, so thanks again. Farmers, contractors, engineers, manufacturers, you name them, I’ve spoken to them!!!

There are some incredibly knowledgeable people around who know how to give good advice.

I don’t think you could.

There’s nothing like farming for sharing advice and helping people out.

Long may it continue.

Trouble is, I’m not sure I have much knowledge about anything to pay back.
Think you're doing yourself a disservice there Pete. You and that Kev bloke are a fine pair. Pillocks of the community if I may say. The rest of the farming community could learn a lot about the many uses of a cortina van and self assembly holes. Just pray they don't ask about lime spreading.
