It’s intresting stuff, but quite hard to quantify- has anybody used it and seen improved growth rates or reduction in straw usage? . I’d certainly be keen to try it

We have been using it in our borehole water for a couple of months now. It has certainly cleaned up our water tanks, and we appear to have shaken off our Pseudomonas mastitis which was an increasing problem. Cell counts and bactoscans where they should be now after our first cell count penalty ever.

Dramatically dries the bedding.
Reduces straw use.
Keeps the water bowls a lot cleaner.
Reduces lameness throughout the summer.
Simplified joint ill strategy.
Stops grass burn in creep feeders.

Certainly sounds interesting, as all these ‘miracle’ products tend to. Would you care to detail which of their products you use, how and when?

PIP stabiliser for the bedding and PIP water plus for the water. Just through a sprayer as per the video. A light misting each day for a week and then every four days. 10ml is enough to do an ibc full.

It’s not a miracle product. As you know the animals are under a huge challenge when housed and it will never replace anti-biotics. It will however put you more in control of the situation and mitigate the risks substantially. That’s why I said we wouldn’t be without it, because we wouldn’t want to be in the position again if leaving it to chance and firefighting the consequences.

Thank you. Food for thought.:)

Hi I've just got a 20l tub of the water plus, I am going to run in through a dosatron to clean my water pipes, do you mix so much of it up in a tub with water or just put it through neat.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Ask the Pruex guys about the dosage. We started with a Dosatron, but when it wore out due to very fine grit from the borehole, I replace it with a dosing pump https://www.hannainstruments.co.uk/chemical-dosing-pumps/1884-blackstone-chemical-pumps which runs whenever the borehole pump runs. We pump nearly 20 m3 per day, for dairy, sprayer, house etc and after the initial dosing have cut back to about a drum a month. We mix 10 litres up in a 100 litre drum and the dosing pump draws from that.

This is our borehole shed. We mix up in the grey drum, the PIP Water plus is drawn up using the yellow 6mm pipe to the dosing pump and then into the main water line via a check (non-return) valve. We have added a tee and a small valve to vent the pipe so we can prime it if the drum of mix runs dry.
