the pair I got were £20 and they were awfull I thought, mybe my feet are just too use to nice comfy warm wellies. I gave them to my brother while he was home on holiday to use as they were brand new he handed them back the next day said he would just wear a pair of boots.
That's cheaper than mine! They're usually about £45-50. Maybe mine are mid range then?

Buckler wellies aren't much cop. Can't stand up to getting snagged on thorns or old barbed wire etc when cutting through hedges.

And their leather boots were rubbish too, they sliced open in their first day walking around a demolition site. Sure they are comfy, but I don't want some soft fancy leather for the ruff and tumble of a workplace.

Thank you for the link, didn't realise there were so many types of Nora Wellingtons. Use the Dolomite as they are good on concrete but am finding that they are not lasting as long, used to last about 6 months + but more like 5 months now, so I am either spending more time in them (must be working too hard) or the soles are not as durable. I like the unlined boot and wondered whether the ones with a cross hatch pattern are any longer lasting?

Finally is there any difference between a size 8 for men or women?

Yes, the men's size 8 is wider across the whole foot. They are different lasts that they use to mould the rubber / PVC/ PU around. As for the Noras, the dolomite has the better sole and grip for mud whereas the other is better suited for food production as mud would get stuck in the cleats in the sole.

Thanks for quick reply:) re neoprene socks, have always thought neoprene socks or insoles would be a good idea as OH suffers from cold feet and I have spent years trying to find the best insoles for insulation. Can you buy neoprene socks for wellingtons and are they long lasting in a working situation? Most neoprene socks seem to be for surfers when I have looked on the internet.

I've got some bama boot sokkets out on trial with a dairy farmer and so far so good! We have had the neoprene socks listed for quite some time. They are some great wool insoles on the market and some new ones made locally which we will have in the next few weeks however they don't keep the upper foot warm.

Are the sokkets the blue ones MVF sell? if so they are very good in cold weather but do not last very long on the toes and heels.

They are very genorus size I have to take a size smaller than every other shoe boot I wear so you might be lucky, i would recommend you all buy foot wera with steel toes if work is involved.

There seems to be some dislike for safety toe caps as they are perceived to be too heavy and tight! There are some great innovative products being developed with polycarbonate toe caps which are incredibly light weight and the toe cap bounces back into shape after a heavy weight. I have a pair out on trial at the moment with a farmer in Devon and these should go into production for middle of next year!

Which company do you work for and where are you based? Must admit it is quite interesting reading about the innovations in wellington design, it is about time that the designs started improving as we certainly spend enough time in them.

Just as long as it doesn't squash your toes and then bounce back into shape!!! Would be good to have an alternative to steel

I love mine.

Certainly a lot heavier than the standard puroforts but so much more comfortable. They have a much thicker sole so you have to remember to lift your feet a little until you get used to them or you end up tripping! Very warm in the winter and very very warm in summer!

A bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for and if your on your feet most of the day I'd rather spend £75 on wellies that last a couple of years than £20 on crap ones that aren't comfortable and are constantly leaking!
