Purofort thermo plus wellies

I love mine.

Certainly a lot heavier than the standard puroforts but so much more comfortable. They have a much thicker sole so you have to remember to lift your feet a little until you get used to them or you end up tripping! Very warm in the winter and very very warm in summer!

A bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for and if your on your feet most of the day I'd rather spend £75 on wellies that last a couple of years than £20 on crap ones that aren't comfortable and are constantly leaking!
The on running joke of whether or not you need a HGV license to wear them! They're a superb boot but I find them very heavy.

not a day in day out pair of boots but worth having! (y)

I suffer badly with chilblains but since wearing better quality boots for the last few winters I've had very few problems!

Definitely agree! Considering how much time you spend on your feet - Wellies that protect, support and give utmost comfort are well worth investing in. Have you tried any on the neoprene lined boots? Aside from the Seeland, Le Chameau and Aigle of this world, there are some great Agri boots now that are neoprene lined from Grubs and Bogs. I'm a big fan of Bogs rancher boot at the moment. I had it tested by a local dairy farmer who wore them all summer and put them through all sterilising chemicals daily. They're still going strong! He even punctured the rubber by accident and the 7mm neoprene lining is still keeping his feet dry! They come with a lifetime guarantee for "fair wear and tear" but they will guarantee them for 12 months if they're being worn 7 days a week / 12 hours a day (which is a lot more than most suppliers will stand over!)

once had a pair of muck boots and had a stick go thou the side- they weren't very tough!

to be honest if I don't have to wear welly boots I don't and opt for work boots- better for the feet than wearing wellys all winter.

If a dairy farmer was testing them for you I assume that they have a good grip on concrete, how are they on the flexing points? All wellingtons seem to have different failure points but the heel seems to be the worst:(.

Are you going to sell the Bogs Rancher wellingtons in store and if so, at what price?

The farmer who tested them had honestly not said one bad thing about them and to me, that means a lot! Good grip on concrete, acid and oil resistant sole, breathable in hot weather and toasty in cooler evenings too. They're on trial at the moment in two branches - mole valley farmers south molton and Yeovil. They will be rolling out into more stores when the company have full stocks in the UK at the end of this month. They're £67.50 ex VAT off the top of my head.

They won't be in liskeard as they will probably only go into the stores with most space and liskeard is already tight! They will be able to order them from one of the other branches though if that is easier for you. Newton Abbot should have them from mid November.

Yes, it always looks as though Liskeard has everything shoehorned in, explains why they have only a few pairs of Noras on display, generally forget to ask when I get to the till as well:whistle:. Think they need to take over Solomons next door or move some of the outdoor stuff to the empty (still I think) timber merchants site along the road and expand the covered store area.

Bought a pair of bekina thermolite boots after the positive reviews on here, wore them today, think il be going back for another pair of muck boots, unreal pain in my right foot, they are 3 times the weight of my muck boots and I near went through the car windscreen when I went to change gear, one boot can do all tree pedals! Just wish the muck boots would last longer!

I got sick of cold feet all winter, bought a pair Purofort and haven't looked back, very comfortable, warm and hard wearing.Yes they are a bit heavy but soon get used to that, a small price to pay for warm dry comfy feet on the coldest days standing on concrete.

I use lighter Puroforts for summer. Got a pair of Bekina steplites for when it turns cooler, nice and light but warm. For proper cold spells Muckboots are great, EXCEPT for shocking grip. What's that all about? Why don't they just sort the sole out?

Agreed bloody things gave me a night in hospital after concussion falling over- Muck Boots - never again.

Bekina are very good and have a higher slip resistancy rating than Dunlop plus can tolerate a higher resistance to lactic acid. If it's warmth, safety toe and slip you're looking for, two of the best are the Bekina steplite safety or the grubs work line with 5mm neoprene. Without safety toe, the regular Bekina steplite, bogs rancher or regular grubs frost line are all warm, grippy and comfortable boots. Lots of great technology being developed and some amazing boots will be available in the next 12 months.
Hi - I was wondering if you could help me?
Im trying to buy "the perfect pair" of wellies for my dad. He suffers badly from poor circulation and his feet are freezing all day in his current normal wellies. He has a bad back so not very mobile and therefore cant deal with boots that are too high or require a lot of bending to get tehm on eg Much boots are very snug.
He is mostly standing about on concrete or in the tractor. Can you tell me what is the best option for him? Nees to be lowish height , easy to get on and off, good non slip soles for concrete , steel toe not needed, must be superwarm and not too heavy :)
