So. There is a lot going on it that field. There is a hollow bowl at the bottom that often ponds and is where the pipe goes under the road to the ditch. There are then 4 vintages of drains in the field from stone drains, through clay pipes and two different ages of waving coil. The final vintage of waving coil has stone above it but unfortunately ploughed through all the other vintages of drains without tying them in. That is where a lot of the problems are arising which I’m working my way around. I dug that short new drain there with twin wall to catch all the stone drains and tie them in before they get down to the low bowl area that ponds, so no real need for stone is it’s about catching the stone drains.
I hope that makes sense.

To get away from the hustle and bustle of not seeing anybody as I am on my farm on my own all day I like to get away to Australia where there are even less people. Covid has put paid to that for now.

Here’s a holiday pic, we saw a car every 12 miles so at some points there wasn’t another car in front for 24 miles (about as far along the road as you could see in the pic)
