How did you go on cutting the gas bottle. I did one once. I took the tap off, let it breath, filled it up with water. Started cutting with grinder.....and suddenly it was on the other side of the yard. Dam near pooped myself at the large bang.

That's what I did. I can only think that there was a flammable scum that was on top of the water. It was a very old bottle.Unscrew tap, fill to the brim with water, attack with grinder whilst still full of water.
Never had an issue.
