Much of a muchness but the IH and loader with a counter weight will handle bales baled with a 20yr old baler no problem but will really struggle with greenish stuff baled with modern balers. Nice dry haylage on the other hand should be ok. What you’re going to handle them with will make a difference aswell, you will have a much better chance with a closly fitted single bale spike as opposed to a round bale handler on weld on brackets. And extra 4 inches forward makes a lot of difference. The 584 doesn’t have the HD front axle either. Clear as mud sorry!!!

pretty much what i thought, it is a modern baler doing the baling and they are big and heavy, not sure what i would handle them with, are bales ok to use if they are lifted with a bale spike and the hole patched with tape? any idea what international 84 series had the heavy duty axle, i thought they were the same on all these machines, may be better selling the tractor and buying something more suitable

If you just need to clear them off the field will a cradle on the 3pt not do? Tractor will easily handle a bale on the back. Don’t quote me on the front axle setup but I think 584 will have two bolts holding on the stub axle assembly to the main beam and a HD one will have three and heavier hubs, I think!!! 🙈🙈

the field is 3 miles up and down hills on a main road from my main holding so not very keen on driving that distance with a bale on the back but may be ok with a full set of weights on the front, yes two bolts on the stub axles so must be standard, was thinking of making a bale cradle as a project over the winter does it matter if it doesnt tip

also thinking about a 3 point linkage forklift will this work for handling silage bales, it will be a cheap way to do it, could get the baler man to drop the wrapped bales onto pallets
