Rained on bales

Got some 6 string bales of barley straw baled dry but now had 7mm rain on them. Do we leave them out to dry a bit (which they probably won't) or is there anything we can spray on them to prevent mould? End use is bedding for small pigs.
We carted 200, but 120 got rained on as soon as baler left field.

Leave them out as long as you dare as long as they are not getting wet underneath.

Use them first then.

Had some piles that got wet once, red spray mark on either side and put on top (wet up) or bottom(wet down) of stack in shed.

Wonders if option to tip bales on edge for smaller surface area to get wet 🤔

Add-H was what we used on hay back in the early 80s. Essentially aecetic acid that we sprayed onto the hay swath on the front of the pickup reel Worked very well but was awful on the baler which in the end, rotted away!

However, what I used to do after, was to spray the stuff with a knapsack on each level of bales if I had any a bit suspect... Late at night, under hedges etc. Still heavy but stopped mould as the stuff used to permeate through the stack with heat.

what size bales , 4/3
leave out as long as you dare , then when you want to put inside
stack on edge and tie a car tyre to 5 th string up so it leaves a small air gap , and dont ram them up tight ,
you will end up with a cruncy bit on every bale ,
use best straw when pigs smallest ,then use others as they get bigger ,
are you putting straw through a blower ,as they turn shite straw into good
