Here's one of ours from an artic bulker that let go earlier in the year when the trailer was fully up, my autopsy thinking is that there was the slightest of bends on the piston which must have been placing stress on the collar/cap over the years.

If you want to know why never to stand beside a tipping trailer - this is the reason right here - 27t of soya comes down with some bang.

Thats bad what checks do you make on these rams in relation to servicing the trailer as the body would have to be completely tipped up to even see with binoculars or you would need access to a cherry picker?

Bent the trailer tipping bar and some light chassis damage

Thats bad what checks do you make on these rams in relation to servicing the trailer as the body would have to be completely tipped up to even see with binoculars or you would need access to a cherry picker?

They're nearly impossible to check apart from obvious oil leaks.
