Ransomed Horse Drawn wheel needed!

Hi I’m hoping someone can help here. When we bought the farm in 1955 this old Ransomes plough was by the gate and that’s where it’s sat. The old girl is now going to be treated with a rebuild but one of the wheels has broken (possibly hit by a lorry).
The wheel is about 11” diameter with 4491 cast in. It’s got a tapered bore.
Has anyone got one? It’s historic to us and would really like to get it sorted.

….cant seem to post photos arrgh!

sorry will include the link this time :ROFLMAO:
i’m aware of them, they would nee to make a pattern and make up for the missing bit then I’d have to get the centre machined to a taper so probably huge money to do it that way !

Just put the gap at the bottom, will look like it's sunk in the ground, no worries!!

I thought you could weld castings with the correct rods??

Try the Highland Folk Museum in Kingussie. Yes it seems a long way away but . . .

In the "modern" area, there are sheds and sheds absolutely full of old machinery. Plus stuff dotted about the place for decoration. And crucially there are some guys wandering around back there that seemed to be in charge of it and look like they would know how to find and remove what you're looking for!

No answer to the question whether it is to be used or as an ornament? Do a Google for cold casting/resins, etc. if just for looking at. I was looking at reproducing a part a while ago and there is a lot out there on Youtube and internet. I think I could get the bug very easily.

I’ve found a slightly larger wheel but same taper from a different Ransomes plough but it’ll fit so I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for all the advice, I’ve gone to one off castings in ali etc for rare car parts but for this it’s just not worth the expense!
A broken wheel makes it incredibly difficult to move in the future, and as it’s a gate guardian no it’s not going to be used!
