Re roofing Dutch barn

Anyone done one have got a price on tins but thought I’d ask any tips do you hook bolt them on again or tek screw

It's about 25 years since we had ours done and they used Tek screws

I went out for quotes for doing ours, one of the guys came back with a price, and said he could knock the old one down and put up identical for only two grand more, so we did that , galvanised included

Me and my brother resheeted Dutch barn in 2001. Remember as the winter of F&M outbreak. They wouldn’t deliver tin directly to farm because of bio security. Had to unload on roadside. Barn was full of bales which we stood on to do the job. Used hook bolts to steel work. Think it was tek screws to join sheets. Laid damp course membrane between angle iron and sheets to help stop rusting.

Is it the round roofed type you have.
Ones like that round here are maybe 70 or 80 year old ?
I would be putting the money to a new shed

Couple of replies suggesting it's not worth doing .Be interesting to know what @ih1455xl has been quoted for tin and how big the barn is and then what a new replacement would cost just out of curiosity.

I just love these old Dutch barns and if it was mine I wouldn't hesitate to reroof it.
Love them so much I built a new one. New ones are made out of girders rather than angle iron for some reason. An angle iron one would last longer than me.

I'm looking at putting legs under a nissen hut then applying for a conversion.

Asked an old shed builder once how he used to roof dutch barns, he said join an entire arc of single sheets and pull them over on a rope and hook.

its got a lean to one side and a apex off the other so not so easy to pull down ive got brad rushton pricing up to fit a apex in it

How big of a roof is that your sheeting? I’ve got one to do soon.
