Recon all the "record keeping" is done in the other direction , when anyone orders red the fuel distributor has to electronically inform HMRCIs anyone able to advise what records have to be kept for the use of red diesel on the farm?
Thank you for that. I wondered if we had to keep a log of which tractors/machines the red went into etc but from what everyone says, I think I was overthinking it. Thank you for your reply.I use red, have a 1000 litre tank and an account with Certas.
Not that long ago I had to jump through a number of new hoops which seemed to be triggered by the account being inactive for more than six months and HMRC placing new purchasing rules into the system.
Needless to say now that has been done a delivery is only a ‘phone call away.
Never had to do more paperwork
@Nearly, no VAT here! Way, way too small.

No, but if you have a tractor or tractors that do non-agricultural work, but excluding hedge cutting, Those tractors must be run on white all year round apparently. So if you have one that hauls a digger to a building site, for instance, it must be run on DERV [white] not Gasoil [red] even if you do a bit of farm work with it as well. However I do not believe there is any paperwork involved.Thank you for that. Thanks for that. They only do farm work so no cross over. Thank you for confirming no logs need keeping in this case. No, but if you have a tractor or tractors that do non-agricultural work, but excluding hedge cutting, Those tractors must be run on white all year round apparently.
