Red Tractor Chair sells out all members

Thanks for posting Johan. I suppose Ms Rolfes position is somewhat similar to the predicament Mr Cummings found himself in on his visit to Barnard Castle. He didn't do the decent thing and i am sorry to say I doubt Ms Rolfe will either. But the depth of feeling across the farming community and all the Whats App groups that i am part of is quite astonishing. Ms Rolfe has lost completely any confidence she had from farmers and RT members.
RT was fighting a losing battle of confidence with many grass root farmers and that will only increase when the new standards are announced. Anything less than her removal as Chair will be seen as weakness by members. Lets see if the AFS Board and Mr Mosely have what it takes to show her the door.

Cummings was an advisor. Rolfe is the chair. There is a difference.

if she does not resign the entire board should

they won’t though......... it pays too well !

There are quite a few NFU senior people on the Board including Deputy president Stuart Roberts who replaced Minette Batters as it was deemed she had a conflict of interest in sitting on the Board. Lets hope they do the decent thing. Going to be difficult for NFU President as i am led to believe she was a great supporter and friend of Ms Rolfe. Doesn't look like the favour was returned. Be interesting to hear what the NFU President has to say about this. NFU press release has so far been restricted to the Director General ........

Clive time to start .
The TFF farm assurance scheme
New Business opportunity ?
Think there would be plenty of farmer and growers willing to put themselves forward to make a new board.

His wealthy neighbours started an assurance scheme a few years ago, anyone remember Genesis? Then they sold out.
He won’t have to go far for some advice.

maximise environmental schemes and switch rest to sheep/beef as a suggestion....if there's nothing 'wrong' with your business why are cross about RT :scratchhead:

why would I want to do that ? I know nothing of livestock farming or hold any interest

that’s like saying the solution is to simply become a heart surgeon !

nothing wrong with the business I have spent 20 years building. It’s just wrong that I have to operate under a protection racket in our 1st world democratic and lawful country in 2020

what needs to change is red tractor NOT my perfectly good business

easy to say but realistically such things need a lot of money and time to get started

i would more than happily work with anyone interested and well enough funded to make such ideas reality

things really do need to change

Sounds very clear to me this Woman had decided long before she even voted that she was going to quit the RT Chair..

When you look above at the RT statement and see that Andrew Blenkiron is Vice chair and Jim Moseley is the CEO you can soon work out why the RT board has totally lost the confidence of many RT farmer members!

No one from either the AHDB or the NFU should be on the RT board, Minette had to be dragged kicking and screaming ( as she had no intention of quitting the gravy train ) from the RT board some 18 months or so after she become NFU president and all that happened is one of her stooges who will do what she tells them to replaced her on the board!

When do the new standards come out?

it could be argued that RT has helped your business as it is a further disincentive to landowners to farm it themselves thus opt for contract farming

Still haven’t forgotten the RT meeting in Devon (Cullompton I think it was) when Andrew Blenkiron spat his dummy out as did Phillipa Wiltshire. Seem to remember that you were there @gone up the hill
