How do you farm without signing up to RT?He's signed up to RT so he has agreed to certain things.
and retailers will happily import beef, from where cattle have never had an eartagWhat a load of pish

beef and lamb are short, very little difference between assured and non assuredHow do you farm without signing up to RT?
Serious question. Please let me know.
So everyone needs to resign at oncebeef and lamb are short, very little difference between assured and non assured
stores, very similar.
milk, your fecked, have to have RT or they won't pick the milk up.
because, if they turn up twice, and fail to find someone, its a fail, automatically.
Who the fudge “requires an unannounced “ visit?"This unannounced assessment will be a spot check and no notice will be given to the farm. To avoid logistical and practical issues, members who require an unannounced visit will be asked to provide information to reduce the chance of no-one being available to carry out the assessment."
That's by definition what a spot inspection is.Who the fudge “requires an unannounced “ visit?
They will just have to waitThat's by definition what a spot inspection is.
The young farmer in this case has been on a very steep learning curve resurrecting a dairy unit on his own and had a lot of non-compliances at first. Hence spot inspection required.
Not necessarily down to youthful inexperience i've had generally low non compliances, sometimes none. Had a mad cow came and gave me about 20 which led to a spot check. Very hard to make any plans with that hanging over you in terms of investing in your business. Got a call in the afternoon spot check tomorrow fortunatly had family around to help evening clean up. Nothing major just dusty parlour jars etc quite time consuming other bits and bobs and paperwork was already sorted ( they class any old nonsense as serious non conformance, or at least that nutter did). That's by definition what a spot inspection is.

Different inspector next day, although still a by the book man and quite particular without going out of his way to cause trouble . Was hell of a weight off my shoulders to get it over with.
All nonsense as well
Except that English law requires double tags all the time, not just when sold, and a limited time to replace a missing one...Exactly, we freeze brand our cows the last four digits of their tag number. If the cow is not leaving the holding what difference does it make if she has lost one tag, as long as it as 2 tags when she leaves the farm. I think these officials think we are as inept as they are and can't be trusted.
l think the ministry now accept tags can come out. Not so sure RT accept that yet, they seem to think its the farmers fault.Except that English law requires double tags all the time, not just when sold, and a limited time to replace a missing one...
