it's what I expected from RT / NFU of course ........... but having now read the full report its seems there is rather a lot of spin in that email and its certainly not all glowing and rosy, it proves that NFU leadership were certainly less than honest, open and transparent about their involvement and knowlage of GFC and highlights a lot of internal issues acknowledges that conflicts of interest exist and the way appointment method of board members has issues. It highlight and recommends need for fundamental change / ground up type rethink and warns against failure / the end of RRT if that doesn't happen urgently. It also confirms to me that there has been a BIG fall out between stakeholders, boards and ownership bodies all busy clearly throwing each other under the bus right now

ie a lot of the stuff I an others have been pointing out for a long time now and RT / NFU have been denying or discrediting .......... is confirmed accurate by that report

have a read - its not ALL quite what that RT email would have you think
Where do i find a list of UK banned chemical, that are in use abroad, I just think you can point me in a direction for a short cut, Storemanager asked me for a list, to give to his area manager (AM ex teacher farmers son ) said neonics and welfare
As a thought we exported "10000 tns of banned pesticides" made here in 2020 , for use in the rest of the worlds agriculture, and some will almost certainley come back here !!!

Right wondering why who they called members in the governance review. After some checks have found out red tractor is only a trademark so therefore Campbell Ticknell effectively won't have done a review of a trademark they will have done a review of the governance of Assured Food Standards Ltd, that is the legal entity in the Court of UK law. Everyone keeps mentioning red tractor as a smokescreen and from certain individuals rather naive for the positions they hold.
At companies house in a document named 'Memorandum of Articles of Association' registered on 24 January 2006 it details who it's members are. = 'the members for the time being of the Company and being collectively known as the "Ownership Body"; and "Member" means any one of them.' The words members, membership and subscriber/s all relate to the owners of the company. So when any documentation from the company uses them words they are always referring to the owners of the company Assured food standards Ltd. Now for an assurance company that aims to provide clear and consistent rules I find that totally unacceptable.
Any grower/ farmer/processor/retailer since that date has only ever been a licensee to use the logo for a period of time. All this talk of members/membership for the farmer/ retailer etc is s completely wrong and if Campbell Ticknell have done a thorough review says it all.

All reporting tags the words Red Tractor to the governence review, and quotes "Farm Assurance body Red Tractor" I see where you come from.

Even reporting of the review is viewed differently and slanted accordingly as can be seen in the Farmers Weekly "RT faces EXISTANCIAL CRISIS, unless trust rebuilt"
And Pigworld "Review finds Red Tractors SOUND but urges it to improve communications"
Pig world may be independant but its obvious the industry processors are wound up tight with RT

Well it makes common sense for them, why pay to audit your suppliers, when the customer happily does it, and pays for the privilege?
I do accept that most of the big boys also edit suppliers, but in doing so probably makes RT redundant.
Edit: As an auditor

Yes, I think what @AIMS did was to shine a light on a dark corner and show what we all assumed was happening, was happening. An in-house stitch up job.
Aw thanks. As a Trade Association we are opposed to Red Tractor. There is a better way forward that is much fairer to producers in the livestock and poultry sectors. On a wider point, this is we believe, a water shed moment and the whole of the farming sector should seize it to drive change.
Good Luck to you all. We will of course keep tuned into TFF which is probably the best way for your voices to be heard.

@AIMS Thank you for posting the link to the assurance survey thingy that 2000 of us filled in.!!
Must have done good.!!
WB
No problem. I am just glad that it has brought the issue into the open and that you, the farmers, who, without you, we have no food, have at least been able to air an opinion.
AIMS were very pleased with yesterdays announcement and hope that it will force change at Red Tractor.
