I used to work very closely with a very successful, on goingly expanding farm shop. Even doing the very best he could, nonetheless a huge percentage of what he sold/sell is what you call “that imported carp”

It is crap. Imported bacon is terrible and the salad is utterly pants as well.

I suppose everyone in government expected a vote to remain and didn't expect that 30 months after the vote there would still be people trying to reverse the result. If everyone who backed remain had accepted the vote and worked towards an orderly, controlled Brexit the country would be in a much better place

The deal to leave is the problem. It is hard to blame any one except the outline of the options should have been published with the meaning of these options agreed and spelled out .was it worth the trouble and divisiveness that it has caused?
On the remain side it is human nature to want to continue in safety and on the leave side it is probably a exciting new prospect.
It is definitely not shown that any major benifit will come as a result of either remaining or leaving. The real concern is that the politicians ability is nil on both sides which is the most worrying feature of the entire episode.

Yes, I tend to agree that the vote was too close to justify the consequential turmoil associated with a vote to leave. The bar should have been set higher. I would feel far more comfortable if the vote had been won by at least a 15-20% margin.

How can they have contempt for democracy? They are only stating a fundamental rights of all free people not to be suppressed by the jackboot of the far right or left. I wouldn't include Ken Clarke in that group , the other 3 are trying to stop brexit which is not democratic imo , especially as they are paid to represent this country .
