Hello
We are in Monmouthshire, S Wales. Can anyone recommend a roofing company/ roofer who can replace a Big 6 roof light on our barn. It’s about 6 metres up, so will need high level access ( cherry picker or similar I imagine).
Many thanks.

It’s a pricey job, probably only do two perhaps three in a day, 3 labour, scissor lift, roof access with Hse in mind,
Priced a similar, never got to job,
‘I’m not paying that much’
Probably undertook themselves, man in bucket, and walked on roof, !!

My local builder did 2 replacements in a few hours. Access off a platform and wide board either side of the roof light. Broke it into the shed, pulled or cut the nails and slid new sheets in.
More complicated if roof bolts and metal purlins with hooks.

Exactly, all depends how it’s been fitted hook bolts onto Z purlins tricky and time consuming wooden purlins with drive nails a whole lot easier to do

scaffold plank the roof, big bale of straw sticking up above the gutter on the loader (so the scaffold planks can't slide down and off the roof!) and ideally tower scaffold under the rooflight. Horrible job but OK, I bet it would take a good hour or two for one roof light.

May I ask the (rough) cost please?
Hi
Happy to share :
Parts, two men, hire of specialist cherry picker ( due to difficult access) c. a grand ex vat.
They were v professional, right gear ( and insured etc) our old roof ( asbestos fibre type sheeting) is a bit ‘ripe’ at 50 years old so a DIY job was not an option! V pleased with the work.
Cheers.
