Replacing Seat in John Deeres

Will need to replace or repair 2 Grammer air seats in 20 series John Deeres this winter. Is it worth buying the repair kits from dealer to replace rollers etc or some say it’s a pig of a job and just to replace the bases. Seats are fine and in good condition on the whole. A history of baler and trailer work has worn the rollers. Many thanks all.

Was going to repair the rollers in mine, stripped it out, knew the compressor was needing attention, discovered various other issues inc a rubbed bit on the airbag, parts to sort were more than a new seat base. (Grammer from Thomas Scott seating.)

Now Then..
Are they air or mechanical seats?? If mechanical, only a complete seat is available from JD .
There are 2 types of air suspension units.
Grammar seat parts can be sourced elsewhere of course. However there's a certain amount of measuting and drilling required.
Last time I did a cheaper base, it was barely worth it considering the time involved..

I agree, saved a few bob but I wish I had bought genuine.
However we saved ££££££££££ by buying a seat compressor off t'internet rather than dealer prices. can't remember what machine that was in, Loadall I think

Just buy two new Grammar air seats, its then just a straight forward in out job and you know you have a decent seat. Swapped a mechanical Grammar in my 20 series last year for a new air one no problem, apart from one bolt hole didn't align exactly up so a bit of filing was necessary.
