Reregistering a tractor on irish plates

As the title suggests, has anyone done this. I bought it without a V5. As it stands I can't even get a number plate for it. Been on the DVLA website and couldn't find a relevant page

Assuming it has a NI registration and not an Eire import you'll need a V62 form from the post office, and the post code of the previous registered keeper. It will cost £25 and could take a while. I had to apply for a V5 for a UK registered vehicle that didn't come with one - that was end of April and the new document was issued 24th August. Can't tax it until it arrives.
Call them on 0300 790 6802, takes a while to answer but helpful once you're through.

Thank you very helpful. It has 3 letters followed by 4 numbers would this be NI?

If the tractor has not been taxed for some time it is most likely it has been dropped from the list By the DVLA.
They will then reallocate the number and you will need to apply for a V5 document and new reg which will be a Q plate.
You will be expected to provide proof of legal purchase. if you want an age related plate you will need to obtain a certificate from a recognised group such as a collectors club

I bought one that hadn't been taxed in 44 years, the number hadn't been reallocated and I didn't need the help of a club to get a V5

It is sheer luck. I think you can check the number easily by logging on tyo DVLA and checking the insurance tax position . If it is still valid will come up as not taxed or insured

Maybe I was just lucky. Mine wasn’t listed online.
I sent away a V62 and they wrote back requesting photos. I emailed photos of the whole tractor plus close ups of the chassis number and the original owners name and address that was on the bonnet in 70s style Dymo labelling and a V5 arrived in the post.
