Though HRN still owe me a user manual, a double gub drawbar that actually fits, and a run on a dyno, I feel they're getting hard done by in this thread

My experience of HRN is buying a 10yo tractor from them last autumn, one which I've spent several years on the lookout for. Though 10 years old, the one that HRN were selling (instead of exporting) came with a months warranty, which they gave in writing. When faults appeared that weren't evident at the pre purchase inspection and test drive, HRN immediately arranged for a local Deutz dealer to collect and repair

The tractor I bought needed work and looked rough (and I probably paid over the odds). Some examples were; the exhaust was broken, the tyres and front wheels were the wrong size, the passenger seat cushions were knackered, the mirrors didn't match, the radio was old and sounded buggered, the seat needed 'upgrading'. However, HRN not only told me where to learn of it's history before committing to purchase, they guaranteed it mechanically

HRN put in writing everything that was agreed they would do before delivery, put in writing their warranty, and most worthy of praise, they honoured their terms. Pre purchase inspection is a must when buying anything used, but from my own experience, I think the OP is creating mountains from molehills of their own making

(..... Even though I haven't got an owners book, double gub drawbar, or run on a dyno 🙄)

Still got a few wee things on my list to fettle, but after a winters fiddling, it definitely looks a lot better than when it was bought

Thank you HRN for the deal

Did you ask for that level of detail when purchasing or were they forthcoming with the warranty and assurances? That can be the difference in types of buyers, some are more savvy.

P.s. at least you've forgotten about owners book, double gub drawbar, or run on the dyno :ROFLMAO:

How about your ultimate winner then?
Tbh it’s the little things.
Mower traded in having not been used for a few years. Man swore blind he’d had it on a tractor day before to check it all worked still.
pto shaft was so seized up had to pull it apart with telehandler. Not been on a tractor for years.

Flail mower ran up and nearly took off with vibration. Complained to seller. He said yes there’s a sweet spot around 400 rpm where it doesn’t vibrate. That’s how we used it 🤦🏻

Before even speaking to the salesman I crawled over it for about an hour, checking everything worked, and noting what was broken and missing, then took it for a good run

Price was negotiated, repairs they'd do before delivery was discussed and agreed, and the warranty was proffered unprompted

Everything was 'written down', and the salesman emailed me a copy of his spreadsheet with the details. He even told me where the tractor had come from, and which dealer had originally sold and serviced it (the name was on the number plate, and I'd already phoned them for information, but it was nice to know they weren't trying to hide anything)

I wouldn't say I'm very "savvy" dealing with big company used machinery salesmen, but I didn't need to push for any details, documents, or information. They, and the warranty which was subsequently honoured, were offered freely

HRN are a company I'd happily deal with again, provided you go see the machine, talk to the salesman, and shake their hand to seal the deal

(and you aren't expecting a book, double gub, or dyno, obviously 🙄)

I hate Facebook market place search is crap and it’s full of nob ends, it would genuinely be the last place I would consider looking for agri machinery. That said I imagine there is some decent stuff on their but I can’t be arsed sifting through the crap.

I probably average stalling 2 or 3 machines a week on fb. Used properly it’s brilliant for selling. Can’t really comment on what it’s like to use for buying

Are they trust worthy
