Thats the first year tax payment when you buy a new one. All years after that are £145/year, except if a car costs over £40k list price, then there are 5 years of £145+320 = £465. The high first year tax will be rolled up into the purchase price I guess. Nothings changed, all this was introduced back in 2017.

I'm waiting until 2023 to change my 4x4, I want a 4 or 5 litre engine and only have to pay £145/yr for it.........

So if i changed my truck for a 1yr old one id not have to pay it? And my tax would be £145 a yr?

Yes, if the list price was under £40k new.

Edit: Commercial vehicles come under a different tax regime, so pickups and vans are taxed differently, £260/yr flat rate from new. All the high first year rates are for domestic cars, but confusingly that can include 4x4s such as Discoveries etc.

So in a few years time the best bet will be a 'domestic' 4x4 paying £145/yr, vs a commercial pickup type paying £260.

Petition: Temporary Ban on agricultural use of sewage cake

In order to protect our land, we’re seeking a temporary ban of the agricultural use of sewage cake until better testing and treatment of waste can be proven. We call on all farmers after this harvest to refuse to accept any more until things change.

Some research suggests that the contamination of land is far more serious than just heavy metal build ups. There is an increasing amount of micro plastics and forever chemicals appearing in sewage cake. We think testing for these when it leaves the processing plants isn’t adequate, and that processing needs to adapt to be able to remove these contaminants.
