Doing my telehandler test tomorrow. Any tips advice? More the theory test think I'll cock up on.

I was forced to do it last year. It’s a piece of pee unless you’re a complete numpty. We had a classroom discussion about identifying safety hazards, a bit of lecturing on the regs and the wording relevant to the following test, then a bit of piddling round in the yard with a telehandler and pallet forks. Took about 5 hours, with a couple of coffee breaks, but apparently employed folks, especially from building sites & councils, are able to make it last the whole day.

especially from building sites & councils, are able to make it last the whole day.

A bloke goes to the council to apply for a job in the office.
The interviewer asks him,"Are you allergic to anything"?
He replies, "Yes caffeine."
"Have you ever worked for the public service before."
"Yes I was in the army"he says,I was in Iraq for two tours."
The interviewer says, "That will give you 5 extra points toward employment.
Then he asks,"Are you disabled in any way?"
The guy says "Yes,a mine exploded next to me when I was there and I lost both my testicles." The interviewer grimaces and then says,"O.K.
You've got enough points for me to take you on right away.
Our normal hours are from 8.00am to 4.00pm.......but you can start tomorrow at 10.00am-and carry on starting at 10.00am everyday."
The bloke is puzzled and asks."If the work hours are from 8.00am to 4.00pm ,why don't you want me here until 10.00am?
I'm not looking for any special treatment y'know."
"What you have to understand is that this is a council job,"the
interviewer says, "For the first two hours,we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our balls. There's no point coming in for that."

Yes, I think we could have done it in two, but the trainers had to attempt to justify the £450 fee I guess!

Not the case, there’s been a crackdown of course lengths with the accreditation bodies setting a minimum length of time as to what they will allow the course to take, anything less and they will not issue a certificate. It’s not the trainers like myself who make the decision, we have to follow rules too......after all as most of us are employees we’re just trying to earn a living like everyone else is.

Neil we had a “trainer “ parasite here other day , as forklift refresher needed for spud man , the two lads who where doing it one quite good. , other one would thread a needle with cotton with end of pallet tine , they had 3 hours of video , then assessor set out a course and asked them to manoeuvre , so the wily old Paul asked if he would show them ? No he says just here to tick a box to say you can . Waste of a day for two skilled people
Yes fss add it enough some can pass the test but would never dare let them loose on any thing other than a brush
