Round Baler cog wheel

Is it possible to replace a 38 teeth cog wheel on a Deutz Baler mp135 (that drives the feeding auger) with one that has 35 teeth off of an MP130?

Can't find a 38teeth one and I'm getting desperate now to cut the crop. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

You'd need to check that the other sprocket and hence the chain are the same as well as the shaft the sprocket goes on. If they are I can't see why it wouldn't work, just your rotor will turn slower.
Parts manuals are available for free download on the Kverneland website.
Have you tried Vicon and Kuhn dealers for the sprocket?

Curiosity got the better of me so I checked the parts books. The 38 tooth sprocket, part number VF16619987 is listed for both the 130 and the 135.
Thanks, yes that's what my mechanic said. Would just turn it slower. It's strange then if the parts manual has them listed as the same number when they have different numbers of teeth🤣

The 130 manual states 38 teeth so there's either been an update during production of the 130 or the 35 tooth sprocket is off something else.
Is there a part number on the 35 tooth sprocket you've got?

No its some breaker that sent me a picture of it. It must be factory issue as it's the exact same factory colour as the 38 tooth one and centre bore

What pitch of chain? Can you measure link length or tell me size? Remember these are blank sprockets that have to be turned out inside and welded on. Not hard for an engineer and these sprockets are heat treated and cheap!
Ok ya I'll check tomorrow. But any rough idea on price?

Excuse me if this is a stupid comment, but my eyes are not good and I regularly read a 5 as an 8. It's not as simple as a printer's error, is it? Manufacturers are not going to make two almost identical parts if one will do!
