I can't find it written explicitly anywhere but is it a given that to get CSFO support for this that it has to be in an area that's high priority for water protection according to Magic Maps? Thanks

Yes I have just read that you can't get CSFO help if you aren't in a high priority area which rules it out. Only about 5miles in a straight line from a high priority area. Also people should know that while the deadline for capital applications is 30th April, CSFO requests have to be sent by tomorrow......

Like me I suspect your water flows to the Fen...... so not eligible, we are less than 2 miles the wrong side of the line.....

How does the concreting the yard option help with water protection? Does it not just help the shyt wash into the drains faster?
You can clean up the concrete and it drains water better rather than a stone yard can be a mix of water, mud and slurry that ends up in the drain

So the thinking is you put rain water from gutters straight to the ditch and then the concreted yard drains go to a settlement bed to catch any sediment before hitting the water course, plus it should be able to be kept cleaner if the first place.

that might be the thinking, but if settlement beds are not a required component of the works are they?

Oh not sure, when I had a conversation with the CSFO I’m sure he said they were, but TBH once I found out I wasn’t in the zone I put it out my mind so perhaps he was talking about the ideal scenario as opposed to the minimum requirement

We've a piped outfall to within 100m of the stream and I think we'll be getting refused.
The boundary on the map is the stream.
They don't get that water runs downhill.

Got a reply from CSFO and was given an application, he said he is the only one in the area to process the applicants and he has had a huge number of them come in so will likely refuse most of them and pick the ones most desperate, he said he has lost 5 staff that would normally help.
I’ve spent a good 3-4 hours most nights this week on it, I feel it may have been a big waste of time while our mucky farmyard drains straight into the watercourse
