We are seeking a dynamic, highly personable and experienced professional to drive a new partnership with the FCN and Macmillan Cancer Support. The Rural Cancer Support Coordinator is a remote, part time position where you will promote and increase the awareness of the charities' support services within the South East and Central regions of the UK. A vital role, you will bring empathy and knowledge of the agricultural sector and the daily challenges faced by farmers. Communication across all levels and platforms will come naturally to you, and with your motivated and proactive approach, you will be eager to explore new business and fundraising opportunities to strengthen the message and work of these leading organisations.

Role Responsibilities:
- To collaborate with wider teams to implement the Macmillan project, including recruiting and managing volunteers in your region
- To provide ongoing support, supervision and conduct training, working closely with regional colleagues to raise awareness of FCN and Macmillan services
- To work collaboratively with volunteers, coordinators, and staff members to facilitate effective teamwork, ensuring DBS and safeguarding requirements are completed
- To assist in regional emergency response efforts during events like extreme weather or disease outbreaks, alongside other regional team members
- To collaborate with the wider team to facilitate internal and external training, identify and develop fundraising opportunities and contribute to new proactive initiatives and projects
- To proactively raise the awareness of the project through attendance at local shows, events and the within the rural network
Essential:
- An empathy and understanding of the rural and agricultural communities
- A strong knowledge and understanding of the agricultural sector and the challenges faced
- A good farming network and connections
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and online platforms
- Strong PR skills with the capacity to develop strong relationships
- The ability to confidently deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
- A proactive approach, eager to identify new business opportunities
- Highly organised, with excellent time management skills
- A team player who can work collectively and autonomously when required
- Compassionate and motivated
- Adaptable and flexible to the business needs
- UK driving licence, willing to travel across the region
- Proficient IT skills, competent in Microsoft Office suite and online platforms
- Experience in the charity and volunteer sectors
