One Charollais ewe running with the tup and hadn't been marked, Lambed three weeks ago. Not sure if that means we've started lambing or we're finishing

Out of interest what dose of PMSG did you use?
We did a trial this year of sponges v CIDR and had 20% better conception with the CIDR

3ml, last 2 years we've done 2ml and got around 160% taking the geld out so wanted to up it and the geld percentage has come down. It's expensive though!

Years ago, when I was younger and keener, I used to record the number of lambs ewes had and try to tailor the PMSG dose the following year, to try to reduce multiples and singles. It never made a blind bit of difference, ever.
Ever since I have always given 2ml to everything for early lambing, or 1.5ml for ‘in season’ synchronisation. Doses may be tweaked slightly to fit bottle size over a mob, given each bottle is well over £20 now.

I would always choose to use CIDRs for synchronised natural mating now, as they are so much easier to insert & remove, fewer are lost, and less smelly mild infections.
