190 with the scrap 🥰 and have check weighed their bridge got a print out ticket from quarry need to find some clean copper wire £5900
A good friend of mine has been stripping cable and electric motors for years , he has even built a machine to pull the wire out of the motors and another to clean it . As I said he’s been doing this in his spare time for a long time and has never sold anything . This week he’s cashing it in , I estimated it at 6ton ish he reckoned nearer 10 and after loading several dolavs of copper for him I think he maybe right .😃😃

has anyone ever had any dealings with BB Metals? Had them in earlier today looking for some scrap. Looked a bit suspicious to me.

That’s a man with a van probably a pikey do not leave anything go without payments
Do not allow him to take away to weigh and call back with the money

Oh yes
lyneburn travellers site,
To be fair, there are genuine Travellers, but all get tarred with the same brush, and yes believe me they have had plenty of me over the years, !!

Whats lead at the moment? I have an old lead topped roof been on pallets in barn for 3 years- now might be the time?
Also got about 10 ex electric fence batteries. These used to get approx 1.50 per kg. Anyone got a recent price?

Thanks. Got some copper and lead to go so better to shift it when it’s worth decent money.

The price of Lead doesn't really go up and down that much compared to steel and doesn't follow steel prices either, the best price for lead I think was around the end of 2017, beginning of 2018.

I look at this an odd time https://www.letsrecycle.com/prices/metals/ it's not the price you'll get in the scrap yard but it is handy to see if the market is up or down. At the minute lead is at 1150 on it, I think the best was 1400.
I have some in the shed and I 'll let it sit there another while

Off on a slight tangent but what is the best gas mix for cutting , oxy/acetylene or oxy/propane ? I’m feeling the need to cut things up now scrap is a decent price .

Oxy propane will be a lot cheaper and more than good enough for scrapping. Do they need cutting up though? Amazing what a digger will bend, crush and squash in to a hook lift skip!!!!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
