I got quoted £70 for general scrap in central Scotland last week. Safe to say it’s still on the farm.
What happens if you give the scrap you a family member not involved in the business as a gift? You should charge VAT and it goes on top of the price not taken out of it. I guess it means it has to go on the books as a sale but as it is straight in the bank how else would you account for it.
Depends on what it is, if its your old tumble dryer that you didnt claim VAT on when bought you can have the money tax free, if its a rubbish tractor that you did claim VAT on then its Vatable and goes through the books.Do you charge vat ? by rights you should .
That’s up a lotGeneral scrap £110/T

That's for carrying other people's scrap. You're fine carting your own in but only your own. What licences do you need to take your own scrap in
Heard of a few people being pulled up for not having a waste carriers licence
I'm sure father needs one of those when he goes to a farm sale! What licences do you need to take your own scrap in

Unless they check it all I suspect they put farm stuff as all the same typical mix, IE fence wire at the bottom! What grade do people put farm scrap in as? Whenever I weigh anything in at one of the yards round Hastings they always want to put it in as "light iron". If there's no fence wire or old white goods in amongst it, what grade should farm scrap be?
