I've seen the stuff you mean. Put the glue in the screw, put the bit in, hit it with a hammer gently and magically it works?

This is the set of impact bits I have.

Seem decent quality and not expensive. 600+ reviews averaging 4.7/5.0 seemed a reasonable enough bet to me.

Looks identical to the halfords pro set I have

The DeWalt multi packs that Screwfix sell for Pozi drive, don't seem to use many of the other alternative bits such as security bits very often but do have a comprehensive set I bought from Aldi a few years ago for such occasions.

I’ve got a Milwaukee impact selection box set with 25/30 various pieces in but I also buy tik tak boxes of PZ2 bits, some bits will do 30 screws and some will do 3 but they’re cheap enough you don’t worry about it

I find these type of Makita selection boxes very handy. I take them to most jobs along with the cordless tools and find the variety of bits and accessories get me out of a pickle on smaller jobs.

The OP was asking about bits though and I have a couple of the Milwaukee tictac boxes for repetitive jobs ( - PZ 2 and 3, I think?).

I'm a bit mean though and don't throw away the bits until they are completely useless.

I found milwaukee to be very grippy but just breaking at some point. Wera are less aggressive but round off rather then break. Pick you poison.
Dewalt seem to get good reviews and not to expensive but nobody sells them where I buy stuff.

I had bit of 100 year old starting switch dry and rusty as hadn't seen light of day for over 60 years, luckily the screw slots hadn't had much abuse and as have for just those jobs a set of supper old and tested quality screw drivers that always start the barstewards, however I couldn't turn them and could see was spreading the heads with all the strength I had so I never go further and use bits for the impact set and if need be grind to get an exact fit with a set of those costing little more of one quality screw driver. I have a 3/8 drive air impact, theres allot air impact drivers if you press hard they bind up the rocking dog clutch inside and don't work or if they do go to messed up instantly, mine do work and turned down to gently pop pop and were all taken out like were already loose, even I was surprised at how easy without damage, you can even drive into and out of old hard oak long screws that if you tried with a hand socket they would just ring clean off part way in. I suppose that 3/8 drive impact taking things apart is one of my most used tools.

I have a set of Wera bits that are their more expensive version. The claim to be diamond coated for better grip.

My experience so far is that a good bit still needs a decent screw to work well.

The screws supplied with fixtures rarely are, same with the cheapest screws you can buy by the box.
