Hopefully alot better, the first cut was exceptionally good quality much to the feed reps disappointment this stuff is on the top and will be great for dry cows.Better than a feed of snow .

Lots of folk think thatDo sucklers need high end silage , I thought you had to just keep them alive
Autumn calving cows do and so do spring born over wintered calves.Do sucklers need high end silage , I thought you had to just keep them alive
To have been in a drought grass the grass looks good, at least there is grass, and it's green.Got mowing the second cut for haylage.
If there's two bales to the acre I will be surprised. First cut done on 6th June. 140 kg of second cut fertiliser.
And this is one of the good fields. Not worth even mowing some.
This drought has really hit our area.

That's not bad for a first cut!Just finished first batch of second cut Haylage. 30 acres 7.1 round bales per acre.
Those pictures are of the best fields. Others we are just going to graze as they are not worth getting the mower out for.To have been in a drought grass the grass looks good, at least there is grass, and it's green.
6 weeks ago the whole farm here looked like it's had been sprayed with roundup.
All greener up now though.
We had 7.4 first cut but would normally have about 8.5.That's not bad for a first cut!
No fodder shortages where you are then?
Where are you. It doesn't say on your profile. We had 7.4 first cut but would normally have about 8.5.
Fodder desperate. Our first cut was down 60 bales, but large dairy farms within 15 mile radius are grabbing whatever surplus any farmers have.
