Anyone heard any seed prices for next year.

Had one price for piper and it's as bad as last year. ☹️
Anything sensible out there or is there another seed shortage?

Most breeders are sitting tight until they’re a bit more aware of what they’re going to have to sell. Huge variation in crops across the UK, with some finished and burnt off, and others still to fully emerge. My understanding is that the Europe position is even more variable. Don’t get me wrong, there is potential in a lot of the late planted crops, but it would be a brave outfit to start selling when your crop currently sits with 15-20mm leaders……

Hearing of a few seed crops up here being given no grade due to virus, acerages being spoken about will amount to a good few thousand tons that will now not come on the market.

I've been told there is ware crops with compulsory destruction notices. Is this correct?

I think if ware is being grown in the same field that will be the case. Some of the growers affected have taken the department to court over this, don't think they have been successfull though, apparently some have been blocking gateways to stop the department from taking the crops down!Quite a loss to those affected.
