I planted some 3 year old cassia barley on failed headlands back in March to get rid of the seed.it had a banned seed dressing on it and I’ve been told plenty of times the seed gets killed by the dressing.well that is rubbish.its grown away really well and just as good as anything else until the drought anyway

It's not rubbish at all, most of the time it will be fine, but some dressings will reduce germination over time.
I got caught out once, over wintered wheat seed with a single purpose dressing, should not have been a problem (my fault should have checked the germination) but less than 30% came up, fortunately only 1/2 ton.

Drilled 2 year old Irina last year into a dry seedbed, did 1 t/acre, new Planet that went in the drill next and continued the field did 3t/acre, you could see where to the coulter where the seed ran out and the new stuff started. I didn't test it though
