On Thursday I was told during an RPA helpline phone call I would have until at least the end of June to apply for SFI’23. Yesterday they had a recorded message giving a closing date of next Monday (10/06/24). 🤦‍♂️

News update on the NFU website SFI section.....

SFI23 will close for new applications at midnight on Monday 10 June. Any application that has already been started must be submitted within 60 days of starting.

Yes indeed.

And my advice woukd be particularly at this late stage, to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible so it doesn't "hanged up' Simple one of maybe less but surer money is better than complex and potentially harder to fulfil one imo.

How long can you wait being accepting an offer? For instance, our existing schemes don't end until the end of the year. Could you leave an application offer unconfirmed for six months?!

Got 60 days to complete from creating the application, and then I think 10 days to accept after the offer (which ws within 24hrs of submitting it) iirc

Just be aware if you have an existing application in progress that the SFI system doesnt seem to remind you when the 60 day application window is up.
It just automatically terminates the application if it's not been submitted.

SFI ‘24 will be the 3rd of 4th version of SFI and they will all be running at the same time, often with small but important differences to the options.
On my quite modest farm I already have 2 CS agreements and should have an SFI ‘23 soon, probably followed by a ‘24 version at the end of the year.

All of it is bad!! The next gov will be certain to prevent SFI 23 agreements from being repeated after 2026 so if it is a short yerm fix for a few then lucky them.. It wont last..
I guess we’ll never know how much money has been spent (wasted?) on this.
One example is the money paid to land agents to give one off “free” advice meetings that are out of date before they get back to the office.
Brexit, take back control, give control to an incompetent government. 🥱

I think that the most brilliant thing is that the big estate owners and their contractors have shown their " true" colours and i would send them all to Donesk tommorrow... with their 600k combines and chaser bins🤣 i am also going to be their Commanding Officer too🤗

easy …… the agents got 32 million IIRC to “educate” farmers about sfi

Defra wouldn’t spend £3.20 with TFF at the same time 🤔

@Chris F loves this subject…….
