I have used beans in my wheat to claim for cover crop over winter but haven't got the application off yet.
Am I best forgetting this winter and just using 24/25 cropping for SFI as you have 12 months do do the aims/actions

Imay be wrong but if you claim i.e today you may get an offer before feb 1st which unless you had beans in already in your wheat over winter 23/4would mean you would have to have them there on feb 28th/9 in 25 26 and up until 1st feb 27 what happens after that is anyones guess , but who knows how the dates/ system works

Yes that's my understanding. I have an agreement that started in dec 23 but I am not establishing until autumn 24 - I did a few ha as a trial last autumn but my wheat has failed due to laying wet so hoping next autumn will be an improvement

our sfi started 1st nov so same here .the bit we did trial ( sown prior to submitting/commiting )has certainly laid drier. I reckon the roots of the ploughed in beans once emerged have helped drainage plus im looking forward to the 2nd tranche of payment coming in the next few weeks .
