Side tipping trailer

Because when tipping a decent sized load they spill massive amounts under the wheels, necessitating driving forwards whilst tipping in most cases resulting in a spread out untidy heap.
Couldnt care less about being untidy, tipping to the side is a whole lot safer than the other way with long trailers, eneven ground, power lines , low buildings etc

I wouldn't tip one on anything other than flat ground sideways!

On a wagon it is amazing how much they show weight transfer by compressing the suspension and leaning over when tipping. It would be very easy to tip one over.

Low buildings I can understand, but you shouldn't be tipping under powerlines at any time.

No one chooses to tip under a power line, they dont see them till its too late
