i think you said it was rye, what type of rye is it, hybred or forage, or, did i get it wrong.
Its triticale and oats mix. Yielding around the 8.5t/ha atm. Not a lot of pits yet. Looking at a decent yield if left another 3 weeks. Moisture was around that 68-72% mark but with rain coming tomorrow we had to get it in.

thanks, did get it wrong. We grow hybrid rye, cut mid/late may for whole crop, 18 ton acre, good starch last year, cows milked well on it, followed last, and this year, by maize, good crop. Going to try some with vetches for next yr, see if we can up the protien a bit ! Always interesting to compare newer crops ! Combined with the maize, we are achieving close to 30 ton/forage/acre, for silage.
 
Cut 3 weeks. Will cut again 1st week of October will need rain ASAP tho, but flying p
