Finished cutting open the wet parts. In bunker now. Now just time to close up. Will cut the majority thats left in 3 weeks time. Its triticale and oats mix. Yielding around the 8.5t/ha atm. Not a lot of pits yet. Looking at a decent yield if left another 3 weeks. Moisture was around that 68-72% mark but with rain coming tomorrow we had to get it in.

what are them pit walls @jimmer . very bulky and square looking. lookls a nice width pit too.

thanks, did get it wrong. We grow hybrid rye, cut mid/late may for whole crop, 18 ton acre, good starch last year, cows milked well on it, followed last, and this year, by maize, good crop. Going to try some with vetches for next yr, see if we can up the protien a bit ! Always interesting to compare newer crops ! Combined with the maize, we are achieving close to 30 ton/forage/acre, for silage.

30ft wide, would be better at 40ft, but wasn't my decision

Are they using heat guns though? A neighbour of ours didn't think he had hardly any, counted over 100 in the end with 40 around 1 set!

Yeah bulked we’ll just the same as the rest of the cuts this year tbh.. emmm was rowed with a class 3600 so whatever she brings in 50ft?

october, early better than late.
