Silage / Straw / Hay Price Tracker

I suppose your up against people that do it for even less .we get it here some years .farmers selling hay for £2/bale

Yes. Normally we are the dearest place but considered by many to stock the best produce. This year we are the cheapest & many will say put your prices up but it is very tougth dealing with Joe Public who does not follow the market.

Converesly with potatoes last year we were the cheapest, this year we are the dearest & they are selling well.

Cauliflower this week we are buying at £1.10 each & selling at 90 p each & getting abuse from customers for charging so much. But when caulie is 20p each in the markets we are selling at 80p without complaint.

I'm wandering off topic, but trying to explain how retail sometimes works. People will pay a high average, but hate to pay a high price & don't really thank you for dirt cheap.

Customers need to be of a certain quality as much as the product you are selling them.

We are near Barnsley, posh part but still part of the Socalist Republic of South Yorkshire. One family have not worked for three generations but still get a brand new car (Ford Galaky) on motabilty every 18 months. They are all obese & buy lots of cabbages but as they say "we don't eat this sh!t we live on takeaways this is for the rabbits" which they keep in wheely bins in the garden. This family occupy an entire council estate & have married their neighbouring cousins for generations. The only saving grace is most of them die before they reach 60.
