Had a bit of a smile at Luscombe Maye lot no 20 to 25.
Described as round bales (4 stringers80in x 90 in). Some odd shaped round bales ! And 80 in x 90 in is some size of a square bale !

2 loads of Oat Straw Not Sold.
The trade was difficult to describe some bigger loads look good value - the averages confirm a similar trade.

Anything that was decent sold well, the organic hay our stock would have starved before eating it, in my opinion.

Leek market Saturday all lots delivered 15 miles from auction Wheat straw 6 string bales, small load @ £99.50 per ton ,full load @ £82 per ton Barley straw £94 per ton. Hay 4 string 80x90 @ £50 and £57 per bale
Tuesday- Barley straw made £95/t, nice dry bright stuff
Round bale haylage £38 (per bale I think)
Lad who brought that straw back to ours was saying that maize silage is £90/t!
