What would people suggest a fair price is for 2nd cut silage anytime before end of September, could take a 3rd cut if they want at the same money. Growing well but they're to apply fert if they want to. Last cut was 2 weeks ago. 2 fields of equal size totalling 18 acres with good access in Cheshire. Clay soil if that makes any difference... Thanks

Thanks, tbh I'm not sure they will be. I usually make for myself but I've already got double what I need for winter and there is only so much yard space you can cover with bales... I'm really after a cheap way to clear the grass without laying out for loads more bales to hang around next year... That said, if no one wants to pay id rather top it and reincorporate the grass into the ground to save on fym spreading next year. Not sure it works like that, but that's what ill be telling myself when I'm driving round the field

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
