We were only looking for around half of what we normally buy at our local auction. Got a fair bit (far more than normal) left over from last year & a lot more cubicles gone in. I can’t imagine we’re the only ones.
Many of the least efficient straw users will be the ones who are cashing out of livestock, the previous year’s high prices being part of the decision. Those who are carrying on have done as you have. There will be WB crops in this area along with oats that combines will struggle to chop they are so thick if it ends up a damp time

I don’t know what all the fuss is about. Us livestock farmers are doing you all a favour by tidying up all those byproducts you leave lying around your fields. We should probably be paid to take it off your hands 🤣🤣
They've invented this thing at the back of the combine ,
I think it's called a straw chopper.:wtf:
