Ha!dont know about that, althought there's nearly as much work in the barstewart!was initially thinking about making a few more to sell but there's just too much work for what I'd imagine people would be willing to spend

Without wanting to be nosey would €300 cover time and materials for it for its as much as people would probably pay I'd imagine as good and all as it is

I would say materials cost €80 max. Wheels, rams and paint were all I had to buy, the rest was box, angle etc i had lying around. Time on the other hand was a different matter! Although I didn't add it up i would estimate at between 80 and 100 hours. However if I were to make another one or even make 2/3 at a time I imagine I could easily halve this

could do with one of them to collect lawn mower clippings, just need to add a leaf blower to the rideon's spout
yea thats the next project! to make a 10x or JF 1060 for his younger brothers kart. it would really look the part but i have no way of bending or folding flat plate so could be tricky - any suggestions welcome!
Fully loaded too!! Good job by the way, looks superb!
Thanks, its also surprisingly light. I initially built it to 1:4 scale to suit the kart but it weighted a ton so reduced it to 1:5 and replaced the side upright supports with hardwood timber instead of steel and it is now very managable. One of the hardest things was getting the tipping rams right, and involved a few trips to the scrapyard. Too strong and a kid couldnt reset it once tipped and too weak and it wouldnt throw up the load. eventually found boot lid rams of a vw golf to be perfect - a pull of a cable to release a catch with a dry load and it gently raises while its also no problem for him to lower.

Not sure if you they are popular in the UK so this is the trailer I modelled it on due to its simplicity

I seen this one at a show last year of a Kane half pipe and thought it was excellent

Lucky Nephew ..............

Did you consider ply/MDF for the spout, obviously it would have to be treated against the elements

Unreal!!
If I had that when I was younger I'd have been in my element! Look forward to seeing a harvester if you ever get round to making one. Should show it to Donnelly himself...
I know, it's a slight improvement on the cardboard box I used to pull around when I was that age! I would have given my right arm for something like this. Somebody else suggested showing it to p donnelly as well but I was afraid of perhaps copyright issues.

Yes I thought of using ply alright but I'd prefer to keep it all steel for durability and aesthetic qualities. I have looked at videos on youtube which show how to make very simple and effective sheet metal folding brakes. I think I am going to buy few bits this weekend and try to replicate something like this

Mine used to be old pram wheels and a plywood frame,

Harvester used to be a fence post on wheels more or less haha,

Never had a brother to drive the other tractor though and wasn't really my sisters scene!

No bother with copyright,

Worried about that myself as I make 1/32 Donnelly trailers, Donnelly himself seen it at a show and then his soon bought one for him as a Christmas present!

If you use lighter sheet steel it might roll with your hand, because the curves, all look quite gradual? You could always bond two layers together, if you were looking for thickness in the finished piece.

What does an auger look like before fabrication, I'm not sure?
