Just to wrap this up as it were, got a phone call back in the week, we got an iffy pallet that hadn't enough shrink wrap on it, they are putting more on them now, but not putting the cardboard on the corners. The cardboard was to protect the shrinkwrap from the sharp edge of the boxes & had no part in making the pallet more stable ( well it may not have been there for that purpose but definetly helped support the pallet imo ) sorry for the trouble, have a free roll of wrap.

We shall see what happens as time goes on, free rolls never did much for me....

Ah the "there, there, have a sweetie and run along and play quietly like a good boy" approach. I'm absolutely certain that'll make the problem go away
