Be very careful you get the correct TYPE of Batteries and if your machine has not got an onboard charger you will need a very specific charger in order not to damage the new batterys

I've not started refurbishment of my rzb yet, thanks for heads up, I've got a charger with mine, but haven't bought the batteries yet. I to convert to petrol hydraulic but have to refurb the rest 1st. I'll let you know how it goes. 1 of many projects

I'm wanting to say and I'm not really sure where I get this from but isn't Simon a hire company rather than manufacturer? Or something like that.
I worked for a company in Thetford Norfolk (production/maintenance engineer) called Gala engineering where the cherry pickers were made. It was designed by a by a chap called John Merrick. They also produced a van mounted one and a fwd diesel powered one called a bulldog. Gala engineering was then bought out by Simons and became Simon Gala until it moved operations I believe to Wales and became Simon. Ex employee Harry Brown

I have an old Simon topper which works perfectly on the up cycle but one of the hydraulic cylinders will not lower on command and only lowers when the manual valves on the bottom of the cylinder and the pump are released. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Assuming that your Simon Topper is one of the later ones with electric solenoids You need to check that it is getting power to the coil on the down solenoid.
