I've got one, have done since 2010. Brilliant drill, might be simple but never failed to sow a decent crop whatever the conditions and we've pushed it in some terrible conditions. Anything else just ask. I've made some little changes and improvemnts to suit our system but nothing because it was a bad drill.

What size is yours and what's your system rotation etc sorry to be nosey but I'm very interested in how they work especially in mixed farming with highish traffic straw muck etc on clay but easyish working good structured land

Did you buy another SimT Simon?

Yes, I liked the idea of wider row spacing and stiffer tines, so went for a 16 row 3metre with a Sulky air hopper. Pleased with how it disturbs less soil than the 20 row and goes through much taller stubble without blocking.

@Simon C what is this drill like in high stone content soils? Will it keep flicking stones up. What happens when the drilling tip hits a good sized stone that is lurking just under the surface?

Sorry @Lawless, I don't have a single stone on the farm so can't comment. Conventional thinking is that disc drills are better for stones because they push them down rather than hooking them out. Apparently, if you no-till for enough years, the worms keep bringing soil to the surface until all the stones have gone.
