Slugs slugs and more slugs

eating my veg - at this rate there will be nothing left.

Can I have your tips please and only the ones that work. Feel sick after checking my cauliflowers and broccoli half of them have been munched.

I picked up as many as I could do before it was dark and cut them in half so a least the birds can have a go tomorrow.

I'm sad another battle...

Ducks?

we had ducks but the stupid things walked up the road for some odd reason and the fox had them. Looks like another expensive trip to the poultry seller. Another problem we had was the ducks would go into the hedge (which is on the perimeter) and get stuck. Spent many a night trying to get the swines out. In total we lost 5 runners, 4 white ducks and 2 geese (that flew off) bit of a disaster

Coffee grounds which for some strange reason are illegal to use as slug deterrent in EU.
I am in the process of launching a website to supply Breakthru foliar spray in 50gramme packets for garden use.
£5/ 500m2. has a very effective anti feeding effect. If you pm me your details I will send you a sample to try.

i remember someone saying once that applying diatomaceous earth around the plants helps. Something to do with the slugs and snails not liking travelling over it.

I found beer traps catch and drown a few but you still get plenty of the buggers avoiding them and going to town on the veg.

Two types of diatamaceous earth. The soluble one is no use for slugs but excellent at releasing trace elements tied up in the soil due to its displacement charge. We use the insoluble for grain weevils and so should have same effect on slugs.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
