Just completed one 46m long, have used a mix of six inch blocks, reinforced concrete, diagonal slates 8 by 4 and crash barrier, excluding our labour has all come to about 12.5k. Has taken long time to build! Build in weirs to hold the water.

did a 28m length slurry channel myself last year, will have a look and find what price the channels were but i know that wolfendens were the best on price at the time.

Crash barrier?

Are you using scrapers on the slats?

Does the slurry go down well?

I want to build a wide channel 10' across the end of my cow building, the idea being build the tank then extend the building over the top.

The master plan is to have a 260' x 120' building with a central slurry channel so scrapers will scrape into the centre,I calculate the channel will hold about 70k gallons.

if you could get the same as in my picture 10' wide and 10' deep i would have thought installation would be easy
agree with the grid in the middle
we looking to extend the shed here another 200' and i think we will do similar with a central channel

We've done a fair few channels with the solway precast sections, theyre not quite 10ft deep though

vet told me once that when he was in cheshire there were a few places putting in a 4/5 foot wide shallow channel the length of their scrape passages
they were just cutting the existing concrete ,dropping concrete channels in and slats on top ,didnt need to be overly strong as wheels on scraper straddled the slats

Feckin heavy then:eek:

A bit out of of the forklifts range right enough, managed to shift them with the Volvo though, steering was a tad interesting though. Were usually using them when there's a new shed so just get the shed guys to drop them in with the crane.
Last tank we did was 36 x 3m we dug out and concreted on the Wednesday, panels in and sealed Friday and slats craned on Saturday morning g

I've two 3.5t lift loadalls and a 22t 360,I think I could boss them,I hate involving 3rd parties it just winds me up,I'll email Solway tomorrow for some prices.
