Slurry store full sluces failing?

Slurry store is full, the reception pit is filling and we're 90% a lot is out the store.
Don't want to disturb the sluces if it's some solid muck holding back an avalanche but any ideas what to do?
Pipe about ft diameter and 2 sluce underground.
Ideally we want to umbilical half the store this week and leave rest till after 1st cut.

Don't want to open sluce to spread from reception pit and not be able to stop it!!!

Have a dumpy bag of sand ready to drop over the outlet in the store if you need to stop it.

We used to have a pipe set up that we dropped over the side for when the sluice was broken etc

Used to have a pipe for over the top on a little dirty water tank. It had a tap at the top of the inverted U to open and break the siphon for stopping the flow.

Over the top is one of our ideas at the moment but no use if we can't leave half in .

Ton of sand do you drop that in the store with slurry, with what need a crane I'd think
Depends how high your store is,if shîts running down the yard you’ll find a way, just pump over the top,and stop when you’re at half full.

When our valves died we sucked out over the top.
Then fitted a valve through the side. Cheaper than trying to refurb the valves.

That's the plan.

Don't want to half empty it and it be letting a lot into reception pit .

Was hoping someone had a good way of blocking the old pipe while store still full.

We will see what happens when umbilical here hopefully don't have to empty it,

Have a few dumpy bags of sand ready, have the grid lifted off the slats off the reception pit ready, pump half out, shut the slews gates, if it doesn’t drop, drop the dumpy bags of sand in the reception pit over the hole

I'm thinking a pipe out the side will leave us with the same risk, either valve could fail but imagine someone forgetting to uncouple I guarantee it would shear against the tower.

Over top pipe seems safest, contractor says they can struggle with umbilical if slurry is thick when tank gets down a bit.

To me it will syphon and be easier than pulling out of a reception pit?
